Fondation de la Vocation - Marcel Bleustein Blanchet
In 1960, Marcel Bleustein-Blanchet created the Fondation de la Vocation to thank "heaven" for his safe return from the war and for rebuilding the Publicis agency. In turn, he wanted to give young people with a vocation a chance. He told his clients and friends about his idea, and they supported him by each offering a scholarship. Seventeen winners made up the first class. For the Foundation's jury, Marcel Bleustein-Blanchet was able to convince and bring together the greatest minds of the time in their fields, such as Jean Rostand, Marcel Pagnol, René Clair, Pasteur Valéry Radot, Raymond Aron, François Jacob, Françoise Giroud, Louise de Vilmorin... Over the years, former prize-winners who have themselves become references in their fields have joined the jury, including Yves Coppens, Philippe Taquet and Allain Bougrain-Dubourg.
Today, scientific researchers, circus artists, craftsmen, musicians, street educators, nurses, poets, mountaineers, writers, puppeteers, paleontologists, surgeons, music therapists, choreographers, architects, farmers, landscape architects, ketologists... the list goes on... in 2010, there are 1325 laureates and the foundation is 50 years old.
50 YEARS... 50 WINNERS!
