Of Franco-Peruvian origin, Céline Anaya Gautier has always been attracted by the rites of passage of ancient civilizations. She prepares her son Santiago, since he is 4 years old, to this ordeal. A test where, to become a little man, he will have to surpass himself, physically but also emotionally and spiritually. Starting by choosing himself his test, and the moment when he will be ready to overcome it.
SANTIAGO IN THE COUNTRY OF COMPOSTELA
One night when he was 7 years old, Santiago finally chose: "Mom, I want to go on my way, the way to Santiago de Compostela and I promise you that, even if my feet hurt, I will go all the way." Thus, on June 22, 2014 their path begins in Nogaro and they set out to walk to Compostela. One step in front of the other without any obligation to get there.
Celine was far from imagining that walking with Santiago would take her back to her own childhood as well as brave her greatest fears as a woman, mother and child. Santiago was very far from imagining that 1,200 kilometers was really a lot! But that each kilometer would lead him towards new adventures and that to advance one must inexorably start again. It is not enough to give birth to a mother or to learn one's lessons well to become a little man.
One cannot accompany the path of a loved one without making one's own path.
